About Bluestar Transmissions

Best transmission rebuilders on the Suncoast.

Located at 1302 Rome Ave Unit C, Sarasota, FL 34243, Bluestar Transmissions operates as an auto repair shop serving Sarasota in Florida. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. Typical hours are 8 am–5 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Bluestar Transmissions at (631) 445-3975; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

Its Google rating stands at 2.9 out of 5 from 15 reviews, which is below average for the category; consider the recent reviews carefully before visiting.

Sarasota is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Sarasota follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I got the wrong transmission back. They stated that they never took it apart. Well front desk stated that it was never opened. When I showed up I got shell of a transmission from a completely different transmission. Had to argue to get half the parts that go into the transmission. A crap ton of parts are missing. All cause I took the guys advice and got a second opinion he thought he would slide a slick one over.

O Stars!!! Don't go there! Stay away from this place! ! dropped off a 8L90 to be rebuilt. They told me they would build it better and stronger for $2400 and I could pick it up after two days. The next day he called me and raised the price by $750 to a total now of $3150. They said if this is too much for me then I can come pick it up. So I did and not only did I get it back in pieces, half of the parts are missing. One picture is when I dropped it off, the others when I picked up the pieces.

Beware!!! They will not warranty their work. They originally sold me an old transmission that was not rebuilt and I paid a mechanic $1000 to install the broken transmission. Sarkis gave me the wrong transmission for my truck and had to overnight a pan. After removing the pan from the supposedly rebuilt transmission it had a magnet full of metal and dirty fluid coming out. Some of the gears did not work. The owner took responsibility and said he gave me the wrong transmission and if I got the truck back up to Sarasota which is 100 miles away he would take care of it. He installed a new transmission that would overheat constantly up to 230 degrees and make noises often. When checking out the transmission it was filled to the top with transmission fluid. overfilled 6 1/2 quarts. Some models need to be toped off but not the 6l80. After removing the extra fluid the transmission worked a lot better but still shifted extremely hard downshifting and overheating when going above 60mph. I brought the truck in during the warranty period and Blue Star will not take ownership of overfilling the transmission or issues during the 1 year warranty period. They just wanted to charge me more to repl

They rebuilt my 68rfe transmission. For a ram 3500. I drive it from Florida to Alaska and it completely failed. Within 6000miles. They did not warranty anything or respond. Bunch of metal shavings inside my pan. Sad.

First got help from the owner about 3 years ago. He rebuilt the transmission in my 2008 Tundra. It’s been smooth shifting since. I chose him because his shop was immaculate and the organization of his projects was impressive. There were multiple transmissions in different stages of repair but it was completely organized. The only thing he does is transmissions and it shows.
